User Guide
Everything you need to get started with Coruscate Image Clean-up.
1. Getting Started
Coruscate is an AI-powered image clean-up tool built for e-commerce. It removes backgrounds, preserves gemstone detail, and gives your product photos a consistent, professional look — all in a few clicks.
- Create an account — Sign up with your email and password on the Sign Up page.
- Log in — Head to the Login page and enter your credentials.
- You're in! — Every new account starts with 3 free image processes so you can try the tool right away.
2. Uploading Images
From the Dashboard, click "New Batch" to create a new collection, then use the upload zone to add your images.
- Supported formats: JPEG and PNG.
- File size limit: 5 MB per image. If you select a larger file, a pop-up will offer to automatically compress it for you — just click "Compress & Add" and the image will be optimised to fit within the limit before uploading.
- Batch uploads: You can upload up to 12 images at once into a single batch.
- Auto-expiry: Batches are automatically deleted 48 hours after creation to keep your workspace tidy. Download your processed images before they expire.
3. Processing Images
Once your images are uploaded, hit the "Process" button. Coruscate's AI will:
- Remove or clean up the background.
- Preserve fine details like gemstone facets, sparkle, and colour.
- Output a clean, transparent-background PNG ready for your store.
Processing typically takes 10 – 30 seconds per image depending on complexity. One credit is deducted per successfully processed image.
4. Editing & Adjustments
After processing, click any image to open the Preview, or click the Edit icon to open the built-in editor. The editor lets you fine-tune your results:
- Crop — Draw a selection box to trim the image.
- Rotate — Rotate by 90° increments or any custom angle.
- Adjust — Tweak brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, exposure, and shadow removal with real-time preview sliders.
All edits are non-destructive — your original upload is always preserved. When you're happy, click "Apply" to save.
5. Image Preview & Navigation
Click the Preview (eye) icon on any image to open a full-screen comparison view. Inside the preview you can:
- Zoom — Use the + / − buttons, or scroll your mouse wheel over the image to zoom in and out (up to 500%).
- Drag to pan — When zoomed in, click and drag the image to move around and inspect fine details such as clasps, engravings, or gemstone settings. A "Drag to pan" hint appears when panning is available.
- Rotate — Rotate the preview by 90° at a time.
- Reset — Click the reset button (↺) to snap back to the default view instantly.
Both the original and processed images have independent zoom, pan, and rotation controls so you can compare details side by side.
6. Merging Images
Sometimes two photos of the same item capture different features — for example, one image shows the front of a necklace while another shows the clasp or extender chain. Coruscate can merge both into a single, complete product photograph.
- Open the batch containing the two images in the Workspace.
- Click the "Merge Images" button in the toolbar (visible when a batch has 2 or more images).
- Click on exactly two images to select them — a gold highlight and checkbox will appear on each selected card.
- Click "Merge Selected" and confirm in the dialog that appears.
- The AI will combine both images into one seamless product photo and add it as a new image in the same batch.
The merged image appears with a "Completed" status, ready for download, further editing, or additional adjustments. Each merge costs 1 credit.
7. Downloading Results
Open the image preview and use the download buttons to save either the original or the processed version. Files download as PNG with transparency preserved.
Tip: Download your finished images promptly — remember, batches expire after 48 hours.
8. Credits & Plans
Coruscate uses a credit-based system. Each successful image process costs 1 credit.
| Plan | Price | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| Free Trial | $0 | 3 image processes (one-time) |
| Credit Pack | $2.69 | 10 credits (never expire) |
| Monthly | $9.69 / mo | Up to 100 images per month |
| Annual | $96.69 / yr | Up to 500 images per year |
Subscription usage resets at the start of each billing period. If you hit your cap mid-cycle, any remaining paid or free credits will be used instead. Visit the Pricing page to upgrade.
9. Account & Billing
- Billing portal: Manage your subscription, update payment method, or view invoices from the "Manage Subscription" link in the dashboard sidebar.
- Credit balance: Your remaining credits and plan usage are always visible in the dashboard sidebar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions.
What image formats are supported?
You can upload JPEG, PNG, and WebP files. All processed images are output as PNG with a transparent background.
How long are my images stored?
Each batch is stored for 48 hours from the time it was created. After that, both the originals and processed images are automatically deleted. Make sure to download your results before the timer runs out.
What counts as one credit?
One credit = one successfully processed image or one image merge. Uploading, previewing, editing (crop, rotate, adjust), and downloading do not consume credits. Credits are only deducted after the AI has finished processing or merging.
Do purchased credits expire?
Credit Pack credits (the $2.69 ten-pack) never expire. Subscription plan allowances reset each billing cycle.
What happens when I hit my subscription cap?
If you reach your monthly or annual image limit, the system automatically falls back to any remaining paid or free credits in your account. If those are also exhausted, you'll be prompted to purchase a Credit Pack or upgrade your plan.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Use the "Manage Subscription" link in the dashboard sidebar to open the billing portal, where you can cancel anytime. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Are refunds available?
All purchases are final. Please review the Payment Policy for full details.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes — the upload limit is 5 MB per image. If you select a file that exceeds this, Coruscate will offer to compress it automatically before uploading. The compression reduces file size while preserving as much quality as possible. Very large images are also resized server-side before AI processing to optimise quality and speed.
What does "Merge Images" do?
Merge combines two photos of the same jewelry piece — for example, one showing the front and one showing the clasp — into a single, seamless product photograph. It's ideal for items like bracelets and necklaces where multiple angles are needed to capture the full piece. Merging costs 1 credit and the result is added as a new image in the same batch.
Can I zoom in and pan around images?
Yes. In the full-screen Preview, zoom in using the + button or your mouse scroll wheel, then click and drag to move around the image. This is great for inspecting small details like clasps, hallmarks, or gemstone settings. Click the reset button (↺) to return to the default view.
Will the AI change the colours of my gemstones?
Coruscate's AI is specifically tuned to preserve gemstone fidelity — colour, sparkle, and facet detail are maintained as closely as possible. You can further fine-tune with the built-in editor if needed.
Can I process images in bulk?
Yes. Upload up to 12 images to a batch and process them all at once with the "Process All" button. Each image still costs one credit.
